I grew up in upstate New York on a farm. I was 4 when I got my first dog "Pepper" and it seemed every lost or stray dog showed up on our farm. I intended to be a veterinarian but started a small kennel when I was 19. And soon became a dog groomer, and did boarding which rounded out my life.Over the years I worked and learned from vets, other groomers and home courses , and seminars. I now have West Highland white terriers, and the breed I started with in 1969, Mini Dachshunds. I believe if you take care of the dogs they take care of you, I breed for quality not quantity. I still do some boarding and grooming. Still go to seminars and still love what I'm doing . And most of all still love my dogs. I have many references and repeat friends who come back when ready for another new companion. AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.
