We have been loving and breeding Pembroke Welsh Corgis for around 30 years. The Lagottos are more recent with us (around 9 years), and we started with them because we have planted several acres in truffle trees. Please check our webpage shown below for information on our pups. All Lagottos are fully dna tested, have had satisfactory hip x-rays, have passed their ophthalmologic examinations. They have their CHIC certifications; one is European certified. For the past 30 years, our primary interest has been Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and we have applied the same standards for care and testing with our Lagottos. We do not have a big show name, but we do have top show lines and high health certification standards - Our Pembroke Welsh Corgis are all tested clear for vWD and have acceptable eye evaluations. We use OFA and PennHip for hip certifications. Health testing is very important to us. Our corgis (or their parents) have all been DNA tested for degenerative myelopathy risk factor, and we are producing only puppies that are not at risk for DM. At present, we have all DM Clear or Free Pembroke Welsh Corgis. We have also tested all our Corgis for Exercise Induced Collapse, and we are not producing any puppies that are at risk for EIC. Our Corgis have excellent pedigrees, with many champion forebears. The Lagottos are also from top European kennels and have many champions in their pedigrees, but these are not US titles. Corgi and Lagotto puppies are vaccinated at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks, and wormed regularly from 2 weeks of age. Our veterinarian generally checks them over at 7 to 8 weeks of age, and they are ready to leave for their new homes between 8 and 9 weeks. Parents and often grandparents (and even great grandparents) are on the premises and waiting to meet you. We can not answer any messages that do not give a full name, location, and an introduction. And we will not answer any questions that are already answered on this page and its links. We would like to know as much as possible about the new home the puppy would have. Some of the things we would like to know are whether there are children in the home, whether there is a fenced yard for the puppy, whether someone is home during the day, whether you have had a corgi or lagotto before, whether you are planning to spay or neuter your new pet, and what other pets are in the home. Please add anything else you think relevant or of interest. Sending us an email at [email protected] is helpful, as AKC does not always notify us when someone has inquired. All our puppies are born in our bedroom and live there for about the first 3 weeks of their lives, after which they and their mom are moved into a family room of the house where they will be able to continue their socialization. At around 4 to 5 weeks, they are taken outside for potty several times a day, and between 5 and 6 weeks they pretty consistently no longer soil the home box. Crate training is started at 6 weeks so that they will be accustomed to a crate in their new homes. People have really appreciated getting a puppy that is used to its crate and does not scream all night in its new home. All puppies are microchipped before leaving. We are located midway between Knoxville and Chattanooga in Southeastern TN, about 15 minutes from the Sweetwater exit of I75. We are about 3 hours from Atlanta, Georgia; 2 hours from Nashville, Tennessee; and 3 hours from Asheville, North Carolina. We are no longer doing any shipping - all puppies must be picked up.
Bold and friendly herding dog with short legs and a foxy face. Affectionate, smart, and surprisingly athletic.
