About Kristi Hiltbrunner

We are the happy owners of a hobby farm in southern Michigan. We spend much of our free time tending dogs, horses, sheep, chickens, cats and a goat. We do not operate a kennel, but rather, are backyard breeders who love our pets and take considerable care in making breeding decisions that will strengthen their breeds. Here is a bit of background. I, Kristi, was smitten with the beauty of the Bernese Mountain Dog breed when in 1993, I traveled to Switzerland to meet my in-laws for the first time. Before meeting Charlie, their Bernese Mountain Dog, I didn't know the breed existed because there were so few in the US. back then, Once I met Charlie, there was no question in my mind what kind of family dog we would have. Over the next decades as I traveled back and forth to Canton Bern in Switzerland to visit loved ones, I learned more about the history of the BMD breed and enjoyed watching this amazing breed in its place of origin, in Canton Bern with its quaint Swiss farms nestled in the Alps. Needless to say I fell in love with Bernese Mountain Dogs! For 2 decades I was sure nothing could rival my love for Bernese Mountain Dogs. Our oldest daughter showed BMDs for two years and soon our youngest daughter entered the show ring. As younger sisters often do, she decided she wanted to try something different. She did her research and discovered a breed that met all of her mom's stringent requirements. Most people have never heard of Coton de Tulears but they are terribly cute, friendly little dogs that have wiggled their way into every nook and cranny of my heart that wasn't already taken up by Bernese Mountain Dogs. It has been so fun to watch these peppy little white dogs interact with our gentle giant Bernese Mountain Dogs. When our family camps, we go on dog walks around the campgrounds. So many fellow campers are intrigued with our dogs that it usually takes us a while to get back. No matter where we are, people stop us to inquire about our two very different breeds of dogs, both of which are so friendly and fun-loving. Our dogs and the folks who stop to chat with us have definitely enriched our lives! It has been our complete joy to have high quality puppies to share with other loving families.
