Little House is a small, purpose-driven home kennel in central Oklahoma dedicated to raising Bernese Mountain Dogs with an emphasis on health, longevity, sound temperament, and ethical responsibility. My breeding decisions are guided by science, long-term breed welfare, and the belief that every puppy we produce is a lifelong commitment—not a commodity. I place a strong emphasis on genetic health and transparency. All breeding dogs are comprehensively health tested, including orthopedic screening and advanced DNA testing. All documentation is available upon request. Particular attention is given to coefficient of inbreeding (COI), as excessive inbreeding is a known risk factor for reduced longevity and increased disease burden. My goal is to make thoughtful pairing decisions that balance genetic diversity with structural and temperamental soundness. I participate in ongoing generational health testing and provide individual DNA test results for each puppy to their new family. Buyers are encouraged to understand the “why” behind our health practices, not just checkboxes on a list. Temperament and Early Development Puppies at Little House are raised in my home as part of daily family life. They are handled from birth and raised using a Puppy Culture–based developmental framework, which supports confidence, resilience, and stable temperaments. Puppies are exposed to normal household activity, children, handicap equipment, and a variety of sights and sounds appropriate to their developmental stage. My goal is to produce Bernese Mountain Dogs who are emotionally steady, biddable, and well suited to life as cherished companions. Placement Philosophy Little House puppies are placed in companion homes only. I am intentional about matching puppies to families and do not support impulse or casual purchases. Buyers must pick up their puppy in person; I do not ship puppies. Each puppy goes home with: Age-appropriate training and care education A bag of current puppy food A familiar toy A personalized lovie for comfort during transition Lifetime Responsibility I provide lifetime breeder support for every dog I produce. If, at any point in the dog’s life, an owner can no longer keep their dog, the dog must be returned to Little House. Dogs are never to be surrendered to a rescue or shelter. Rehoming to another individual may only occur with breeder approval. This policy reflects our core belief: responsibility for the dogs we bring into the world does not end at placement. A Small Program by Design Little House is intentionally small. I do not breed frequently. Every litter is planned with care, raised with intention, and backed by ongoing support. My aim is stewardship of the breed and the families who trust me. Contact me at 405-620-7695 call or text or [email protected]
Gentle giant with a beautiful tricolor coat. A calm, good-natured family dog that loves cold weather.
