Melissa Oberholtzer is from Pennsylvania and breeds Bernese Mountain Dogs. My goal is to raise healthy, and happy dogs. My dogs are loved members of the family and their well-being and health always come first. The puppies are well-loved and well-socialized. They are born in my home, and they live in my home until it's time for them to go with their forever families. Once whelping begins I stay with the mother the entire time. I don't leave the mother and pups until all the puppies have been born, are dried off, and are nursing. They see the vet shortly after birth for a health check and to have dewclaws removed. At 4 weeks old the pups begin having outside playtime and have their first baths. They see the vet again around 6 -7 weeks for their first vaccine and another health check. Puppies will be microchipped. They are also dewormed regularly. I begin working on house training with them around 6 weeks of age. Both parents have had genetic testing.
