Next litter Spring of 2026! North Shore Portuguese Water Dogs has been breeding for health, sound temperament and structure since 2002. North Shore has been consistently awarded Breeder of Merit by the AKC and has qualified for Outstanding Breeder Achievement by the National Club. Cindy Petrey has been very active and passionate in supporting the welfare of this wonderful breed. She has served on the PWD Chicagoland club board for the past 10 years. Cindy has been an integral part of water work for the Chicagoland area by serving on the Waterwork committee and Water trial board. All of the PWD's Cindy owns are family members and her companions. They have collectively earned titles in Conformation, Water Work, Agility, Obedience, Rally as well as Therapy work. North Shore puppies are raised in her home and are well socialized. From day one each puppy is held and loved. All of our puppies are temperament tested. Great care is taken to ensure the proper placement of each and every puppy. Cindy's families are encouraged to visit multiple times with the litter. Getting to know her and which puppy is the "right fit" is a top priority. North Shore PWD's have all of the required health clearances as well as OFA Hips and elbows. Cindy is located 30 minuted north of Chicago and 30 minutes south of the Wisconsin border.
