Sandy Ridge Kennels is a family owned and operated kennel located in rural Southern Mississippi. There are two litters on the way. One is due around the first of January 2026, and the other one is due around first of February 2026 (if all goes as planned). You are welcome to call me at 601-297-6538 for more information. My name is Perry Wheat. I’ve been breeding and training bird dogs since 1996. I have been bird hunting since I was a youngster. I've been fortunate to have owned some outstanding dogs. I have always had a love for a classy bird dog that performs well in the field and is a companion at home. Presently, I have German Shorthaired Pointers in my kennel. I generally raise one to two litters each year. My puppies are outstanding hunters and companions. Sandy Ridge Wild River is a hard hunting quail dog and water retriever with many field champions in his pedigree (Sharp Shooters). River is out of Sharp Shooters Special Ops and Twin Hills Stormin Sage. He has an outstanding pedigree, is liver roan in color and is very intelligent. He is an excellent retriever on land or water and is my personal hunting dog Rowdy's Roaming Dixie is energetic and white ticked German Shorthaired Pointer. Dixie has a great temperament. Her pedigree includes Rawhide's Clown, Bono's Raven, Shooting Star's Ranger, Crosswinds Trucking Fritz, Old Hickory Smoke. Alabama Ember is an intelligent and beautiful liver roan German Shorthaired Pointer. Her pedigree includes Shooting Stars Ranger, PJ No-Mars, Rawhide Gretchen, and Bono's Lord. Retired: Sandy Ridge Ellie Mae (dam) is the granddaughter of 3x National Champion & 16 x NSTRA Champion Crosswind Truckin Fritz and 4x NSTRA Champion Babe's Running Wild. Ellie is my personal hunting dog, excellent bird finder and retriever. She is liver ticked, an outstanding hunter and retriever from land or water. I take great pleasure in hearing from former buyers that my puppies are performing well. All puppies born at Sandy Ridge Kennels are from AKC Registered parents and can also be registered with the AKC.
