About Whiskercoons Maine Coons

Whiskercoons is a CFA-registered Maine Coon cattery in southern Minnesota dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized cats that meet the CFA breed standard. Our breeding cats are carefully selected and fully health tested, including cardiac echocardiograms, genetic screening, and OFA hip X-rays. My love for the Maine Coon began years ago while working at a veterinary clinic during art school. I adopted an unwanted kitten from a breeder without even realizing he was a Maine Coon. As he grew from a scrawny little kitten into a magnificent long-haired cat with the most lovable personality, I was captivated. I named him Mortimer, a Red Tabby Maine Coon, and from that moment on I was hooked on the breed—a passion that eventually led to the creation of Whiskercoons. We are a small, in-home, cage-free cattery where kittens are raised underfoot and receive daily socialization to develop confident, affectionate temperaments. We show in CFA and strive to achieve Grand titles on our breeding cats as part of our commitment to quality and breed improvement.
