Golden, Colorado, United States
Wild Rose Canine is located on a ranch in the foothills of Golden, Colorado. We selected our bloodlines for temperament, athleticism, and health history. Our litters have produced successful hunting dogs, service dogs, and great family dogs. We are a very small breeder and want to stay that way, our passion is investing quality time into each puppy. We prepare our puppies for their new homes in a very unique way. We introduce our puppies to pheasants, grouse, and mallards. We spend a great deal of time with pre-training by desensitizing to lots of different sights and sounds, and exposing them to various terrains on the property. We spend time with basic training commands in our pre-training each day. The dam and sire are our best friends, as a husband wife team of hunters and avid outdoors people, we wanted to share the gift of Chessies to people that would love them like we do. Our ranch is the perfect environment to socialize, and prepare your puppy to be ready for any adventure. We have chickens, goats, and horses on our property, providing the puppies with an array of sights and sounds. Our puppies from past litters have gone on to have exceptional temperaments and hunting drive. ABOUT US: Jacqueline: I grew up in an AKC breeding, showing, and training family, and my best memories as a child were at dog shows, and training our small pups to prepare them for their new homes. I loved learning different things from pairing bloodlines to grooming, and training for multiple disciplines for as long as I can remember. I partook in hunting, obedience, show training, and training problem adult dogs. This passion led me to training and showing horses, and being the gal at our stable that specialized in training horses that were too difficult for their owners to ride. I eventually started my own small charity horse rescue that we currently operate at our ranch. Our work has saved many horses, and helped even more people with our equine therapy. I decided to invest this passion for training animals by starting a kennel with my husband, hunting partner, and best friend. We began our own kennel in 2019 with our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, and it has been nothing short of the best time of my life. I promised myself when I was just 10 years old watching the Chessie classes and rooting for my favorite curly haired heroes, I'd grow up to raise retrievers of my own. We decided not to operate a traditional large kennel, but instead to start a very small passion focused, boutique breeding program. Our dogs are our best friends, and spend all day, every day with us. We had to find the right bloodlines and temperaments, as raising miniature goats, chickens, offering therapy at our ranch, and rescuing horses that could be afraid of dogs from past experience, called for a well temperamented dog. We needed strong healthy dogs as we are in the foothills of Colorado and there is tough terrain, weather, and lots to do at the ranch. After a long search we found our breeding pair, Neptune and Jupiter. They're the most fun loving, athletic, and "do anything for you" dogs I've ever had. They both keep up with the demands of watching over the small animals at the ranch, living their double lives as active working dogs, but still cuddling with us each night by the fireplace. After growing up watching many show dogs win shows, but not always be the best family dogs, I wanted to do something different with our pre-training at our kennel. We spend the full eight weeks with our puppies immersing them in various proven techniques that help prepare them for their forever families. We start by feeding nothing but the best organic raw meat, eggs, bone broths, and more to both parents, resulting in strong healthy dogs that live up to their parent's athleticism and health. All pups are introduced to various terrains at our ranch from mud, snow, high grasses, and gravel to help prepare them for hunting and sport. We immerse them with sounds, sights, and introductions to various people, animals, and indoor environments. We pre-train basic and universal obedience commands, crate training and introduce them to bird-hunting techniques. I love hearing stories from our Chessie families of how the pups have been quick to learn, great with small children, and are go-getters in the field. Ezra: I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, where everyone ice fished, and hunted big and small game. I always loved dogs and being out in the field hunting. I bought a big beautiful Chocolate Lab that was my best friend, hunting buddy, and overall best wingman, who even helped win over my wife when we were dating. He was diagnosed early on with a bone disorder, which ended up needing surgery, and I eventually lost him to poor genetics. It was a gut wrenching loss, and led me to want to find quality bloodlines, and dogs with excellent health. Realizing nothing hurt more than not being able to do anything about a dog with poor health due to genetics. This led me to our passion for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, they are agile, healthy, and have boundless passion and energy. I love spending time with my wife preparing our pups for their forever home, by introducing them to basic hunting sights, smells, sounds, and exercises. We decided not to have children early on, and our animals get all of the love, time, and energy of a family, which I believe is why these pups have grown up to be such great dogs.
