Contributing Breed Data (Volunteers)
Help improve the breed encyclopedia by contributing corrections, additions, and updates as a volunteer member.
Overview
Pet Breeder Hub relies on its community to keep breed information accurate and comprehensive. As a volunteer, you can suggest edits to breed profiles, add missing information, and vote on other contributors' submissions. Your contributions help thousands of pet seekers make better decisions.
Becoming a Volunteer
- Create an account on Pet Breeder Hub if you do not have one.
- Go to your account dashboard and find the Volunteer section at
/account/volunteer. - Review the volunteer guidelines and accept the terms.
- Start contributing. You can immediately suggest edits to breed profiles.
Making a Contribution
- Navigate to any breed profile in the encyclopedia.
- Click "Contribute Data" or "Suggest Edit".
- Make your changes. You can update text, add missing information, or correct inaccuracies.
- Provide a brief explanation of why you are making the change and cite sources if possible.
- Submit for review. Your contribution enters the voting and approval process.
Voting on Contributions
Other volunteers can vote on submitted contributions. Contributions with enough positive votes are sent to our team for final approval. You can view and vote on pending contributions at /breeds/contributions.
Volunteer Tier System
As you contribute, you progress through volunteer tiers that unlock additional capabilities:
- New — Starting tier. Submit contributions for review.
- Active — Unlocks access to the review moderation queue.
- Trusted — Contributions carry more weight in voting.
- Senior — Highest tier with expanded privileges.
Your tier is based on the number and quality of accepted contributions. Track your progress on the Volunteer dashboard.
