Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan
Step-by-step instructions for changing your subscription plan, including how proration and billing changes work.
Overview
You can change your subscription plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Upgrading Your Plan
- Go to your subscription settings.
- Pet Owners:
/account/subscription - Breeders: Breeder Dashboard → Subscription tab
- Pet Owners:
- Click "Upgrade" or "Manage Subscription".
- Select your new plan in the Stripe customer portal.
- Confirm the change. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period. New features are available immediately.
Downgrading Your Plan
- Go to your subscription settings (same as above).
- Click "Manage Subscription".
- Select a lower-tier plan in the Stripe customer portal.
- Confirm the change. Your current plan remains active until the end of the billing period, then switches to the new plan.
Important: When downgrading, features exclusive to your current plan will become unavailable once the switch takes effect. For example, if you downgrade from a plan that includes team members, team members will lose access.
How Proration Works
Upgrades: You are charged the difference between your current plan and the new plan, prorated for the remaining days in your billing period.
Downgrades: No refund is issued. You continue using your current plan until the end of the billing period, then the new lower rate applies.
