Responding to Reviews
Learn how to view, respond to, and manage reviews left on your breeder profile, including handling negative feedback constructively.
Overview
The Reviews tab in your Breeder Dashboard shows all reviews written about your kennel. You can view reviews, respond publicly, and request mediation if needed. How you handle reviews is visible to all potential pet owners and reflects your professionalism.
Viewing Your Reviews
- Go to the "Reviews" tab in your Breeder Dashboard.
- Filter by status:
- Pending — Reviews awaiting moderation before being published.
- Published — Reviews visible on your public profile.
- Flagged — Reviews under investigation after being reported.
- Review the details. Each review shows the rating, category scores, written feedback, photos, and whether the reviewer recommends you.
Writing a Public Response
- Find the review you want to respond to.
- Click "Respond".
- Write your response. Keep it professional, factual, and constructive. Address the specific points raised by the reviewer.
- Click "Submit". Your response will appear publicly below the review after moderation.
Best Practices for Responding
- Respond promptly. Timely responses show you are engaged and care about feedback.
- Thank positive reviewers. A brief thank-you goes a long way.
- Address concerns directly. For negative reviews, acknowledge the issue and explain what happened or what you have done to improve.
- Stay professional. Never argue, insult, or make personal attacks. Other potential pet owners are reading.
- Offer to resolve privately. For complex issues, invite the reviewer to contact you directly.
- Do not share personal information. Keep your response appropriate for a public audience.
Requesting Mediation
If a review contains claims you believe are inaccurate and you cannot resolve the issue through your public response, you can request mediation:
- Click "Request Mediation" on the review.
- Provide your side of the story with any supporting evidence.
- Our team will facilitate a conversation between you and the reviewer through the mediation message thread.
Mediation aims to find a fair resolution. It does not guarantee review removal — only reviews that violate our content guidelines will be removed.
Helpful/Not Helpful Votes
Other users can vote on whether a review was helpful. Reviews with many "helpful" votes are displayed more prominently. You can see the vote counts on each review in your dashboard.
