Using the Map to Find Nearby Breeders
Learn how to use the interactive map on the breeder directory to find breeders near your location.
Overview
The breeder directory includes an interactive map that shows breeder locations visually. This makes it easy to see which breeders are closest to you and explore breeders in specific areas.
How to Use the Map
- Go to the breeder directory at
/breeders. - Look for the map view. The map displays alongside search results, showing pins for each breeder in the current view.
- Zoom and pan. Use your mouse wheel or pinch gestures (on mobile) to zoom in and out. Click and drag to move the map to different areas.
- Click a pin. Clicking a breeder's pin on the map shows a quick preview with their name, breed, and rating. Click the preview to open their full profile.
Automatic Location Detection
Pet Breeder Hub can automatically detect your approximate location to show nearby breeders first. This uses your browser's location data or your IP-based location via Cloudflare.
Tip: If the auto-detected location is not accurate, simply type your city or state into the location filter to override it.
Combining Map with Filters
The map updates in real time as you apply filters. For example, if you select "Labrador Retriever" from the breed dropdown, the map will only show pins for Labrador breeders.
This lets you quickly see the geographic spread of breeders for any breed and decide how far you are willing to travel.
Map on Mobile Devices
On smaller screens, the map may appear above or below the search results rather than side-by-side. All the same features are available — tap pins, pinch to zoom, and use the filters to narrow your search.
