Understanding Breeder Profile Pages
A complete guide to everything you will find on a breeder's profile page, from contact info and photos to reviews and certifications.
Overview
Every breeder on Pet Breeder Hub has a dedicated profile page with detailed information to help you make an informed decision. This guide explains each section of the profile so you know exactly what to look for.
Profile Header and Status
At the top of every breeder profile, you will see:
- Breeder name — Their business or kennel name.
- Location — City, state, and country.
- Claimed vs. Unclaimed badge — A "Claimed" badge means the breeder has verified their identity and actively manages their profile. An "Unclaimed" profile was added by a community member and has not been verified by the breeder.
- Achievement badges — Earned badges indicating certifications, awards, or community recognition.
Contact Information
The contact card shows all the ways you can reach the breeder:
- Phone number — Call or text directly.
- Email address — Send them a message.
- Website — Visit their official website.
- WhatsApp — Message them on WhatsApp.
- Social media links — Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Twitter/X profiles.
Tip: Breeders who provide multiple contact methods and respond promptly are generally a good sign of professionalism.
Photo Gallery
Browse photos of the breeder's facility, animals, and past litters. A breeder who shares many clear, recent photos of their animals and environment is demonstrating transparency — an important factor in choosing a responsible breeder.
Breeds Offered
This section lists all breeds the breeder works with, along with price ranges for each breed. Click on a breed name to learn more about that breed in our Breed Encyclopedia.
Reviews and Ratings
The review section shows the breeder's aggregate rating and individual reviews from verified pet owners. Reviews are scored across several categories:
- Health — Vaccination, health testing, and genetic screening practices.
- Transparency — Contracts, guarantees, and return policies.
- Professionalism — Communication quality and documentation.
- Facility — Cleanliness and living conditions.
- Documentation — Registration papers and health records.
- Support — Post-purchase follow-up and guidance.
Look for breeders with consistent high ratings across all categories, not just a high overall score.
External Ratings
Many breeders also link their ratings from external platforms like Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, Facebook, BBB, AKC Marketplace, and Good Dog. These appear in a dedicated section and contribute to the breeder's blended rating score. External ratings give you a broader picture of the breeder's reputation across the internet.
Certifications and Credentials
This section lists any professional certifications, licenses, kennel club memberships, and health testing programs the breeder participates in. Certifications from organizations like AKC, CFA, FCI, or The Kennel Club indicate that the breeder adheres to breed standards and ethical practices.
Public Animals
Some breeders showcase their breeding stock publicly. You can see individual animals with details like breed, color, registration number, and health test results. This transparency helps you evaluate the quality of the breeder's program.
Business Hours
Check the breeder's posted hours to know the best times to call or visit. Some breeders operate by appointment only, which will be noted here.
