Reporting a Breeder to the Blacklist
Learn how to report an unethical or fraudulent breeder to the Pet Breeder Hub blacklist to protect other pet seekers.
Overview
The Pet Breeder Hub blacklist is a community safety feature that flags breeders reported for unethical practices, fraud, or animal welfare violations. If you have had a negative experience with a breeder that goes beyond a bad review, you can submit a blacklist report.
When to Submit a Blacklist Report
Blacklist reports are for serious concerns, not routine complaints. Submit a report if a breeder:
- Sold a sick animal while concealing known health issues.
- Committed fraud (took payment and did not deliver, misrepresented the animal, etc.).
- Operates a puppy mill or keeps animals in inhumane conditions.
- Has documented animal welfare violations from authorities.
- Engages in deceptive breeding practices (fake papers, false lineage, etc.).
For negative experiences that do not rise to this level, consider leaving a review instead.
How to Submit a Blacklist Report
- Go to the blacklist submission page at
/blacklist/submit. - Identify the breeder. Enter the breeder's name, location, or profile link.
- Describe the issue. Provide a detailed account of what happened, including dates, communications, and outcomes.
- Attach evidence (strongly recommended). This may include:
- Screenshots of communications
- Veterinary records
- Photos or videos
- Receipts or contracts
- Official reports or citations
- Provide your contact information so our team can follow up if needed.
- Submit the report.
What Happens After Reporting
- Investigation. Our team reviews the report, verifies the evidence, and may contact you for additional details.
- Breeder notification. The breeder may be contacted to respond to the allegations.
- Decision. Based on the evidence, the breeder may be flagged, have a warning placed on their profile, or be added to the blacklist.
- Public visibility. Blacklisted breeders are visible in the blacklist directory as a community warning.
False Reports
Submitting a false blacklist report to harm a breeder's reputation is a violation of our terms of service and may result in account suspension. Only submit reports based on genuine experiences with supporting evidence.
